PostSubject: PB eating resources LAG fix    Wed Jun 22, 2011 1:51 pm

Hey bros i found this fix it is very good for less lag in game i did not try it yet but all say it's working. with no problem.

For people like me whose PB has started making their game unplayable, updating PB manually will not do anything. (You wouldn't be able to play at all if your PB wasn't up to date.) Here's what you can do to stop the process from hogging so much of your CPU:
Download a program called BES from here.
Alt-tab out of BC2 and fire up BES when your PB starts acting up.
Check Options | Override Security Restrictions.
Click the Target button.
Click List All.
Find PnkBstrB.exe.
Click Limit this, then Yes.
Click Control in the main window.
Drag the slider for PnkBstrB.exe to around -90 to -95%.
Go back and enjoy BC2.
The catch is that you have to do this routine every time you connect to a server. But this method has been working fine for me. There's no side effects like getting kicked from the server or anything. PB will just get throttled down to less than 4% of the CPU instead of 30%. But I only throttle it when it's acting up. I leave it alone when task manager shows it's working fine.

i found this topic (i was solvig duke nukem forever save game :/)

Posted 18 June 2011 - 05:33 PM
It seems DNF has an issue where the CPU priority for the game is always set to Low. This results in bad framerate and hitches on all but the most powerful PCs, as other processes keep hogging up cycles the game needs to run well. The solution was to Alt-Tab out of the game and bring up the Task Manager, to set the Priority of DukeForever.exe to high. The problem with this, is this would not save after you quit the game, making you have to repeat the process every time you started the game up.

There is this program called "Prio" which adds an option to save priority in your normal Task Manager for Windows.

Download (x32) - http://prnwatch.com/...s/go.pl?distr=2
Download (x64) - http://prnwatch.com/.../go.pl?distr=10

For anyone worried, both files are safe.

maybe it could be done on PunkBuster?

Mmm i have FIX from official PB site for game realy Helps bro game running better then ever....

1. Go to your PunkBuster folder in the directory where you installed Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The default location in Windows XP is: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2\pb\". Windows Vista and Windows 7 users will find the appropriate "pb" folder at "C:\Users\\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\\p b\".

2. Create a new text file in your "pb" folder and title it "pbcl.cfg".

3. Inside this text file, please copy and paste the following:

pb_MsgPrefix "[skipnotify]PunkBuster Client"
pb_Sleep 500
pb_LogToFile 1
pb_SsLog 1
pb_SsSave 1

This is also a possible fix if you get bad rego.

Are you tired of shooting people in Bad Company 2 but they don't take any damage? So was I. One poster on Gamefaqs (spank_thru101) posted a possible solution to the problem so I decided to test it out. Upon further investigation, this was also something you could edit in previous battlefield games.

Basically, add these two lines;

SettingsManager.floatSet GSDefaultLatencyCompensation 0.0450000
SettingsManager.U32Set GSInterpolationTime 45

to your gamesettings.ini and settings.ini file in the BFBC2 folder.
In gamesettings.ini, add them between the lines;

IntroPlayed=1
[GstPersistence]

In settings.ini, just add it to the end of the list. Save both files.
[color=red]
Till here bro i try it down below i did not want to play with
BEFORE YOU TRY THIS, change the value to your general server ping. For me, when I refresh the list, most servers are 31-45 ping. So, I change the values to .045 and 45 for 45 ping.

Say most of your servers are 73 ping, you'll want to change the values at the end of the previously stated changes to .073 and 73 respectively because you're generaly playing on 73 ping servers.

Upon further testing, lowering the value below the server ping results in even more accuracy, and lowering it much more makes the hitboxes in front of the target.

as i know, the trick with ping to server and latency dont work anymore. They removed these tweak, by overwriting your file-delete the line in file. when u set "Read only" to file game crashes. Game was made to average ping 100.
I will try pb trick though. But what annoyes me is random freeze of whole pc, need to restart. :-(
